Description

The Warman Peacemaker humbucker pickup. Twin rail warm humbucker that fits into a standard single coil sized pup or scratch guard mount with no ( or sometimes just a little ) modification. Get the clarity and warmth of single coils with all the hum cancelling abilities of a true humbucker. No more 60 cycle hum from your Strat type guitar nor loss of clarity on extreme bends. It can be used in bridge, mid or neck position, or indeed all 3 together.

This is a 4 wire output humbucker so each of the coils can be tapped or wired in parallel for alternative tones from the pickup.

Why do we term the Peacemaker a  “Warm Humbucker” ?
Whilst this is over wound when compared to a standard Strat type coil its about half the output of our true hot rail, The Twin Loco ( also listed on eBay ) Wound to 7.32 kOhm with both coil in series the Peacemaker® puts out 4.73 Henries of inductance / power. It will give you sweet chiming highs with plenty of mid and low end but will buck that hum out of your signal.

Manufactured to a high standard the Peacemaker® has metal inserts for the height adjustment screws, which are provided along with springs, and as with all Warman pickups it’s been wax potted.

Due to the baseplate design and the metal inserts for the height adjustment screws this pickup is supplied with M 3.5mm slot head height screws.

Peacemaker® is a registered UK trademark and used with the trademark owners permission. Any other pickup named Peacemaker is infringing this legal trademark.

Bought to compliment a Twin Loco Hot Rail already fitted in the bridge position of a Harley Benton ST-62 Strat.

I put this in the neck figuring if it wasn’t keeping up with the Twin Loco output-wise then I could always move it to the middle position and buy another Twin Loco. Well, the output turns out to be perfectly balanced with the Loco in the bridge and tone-wise its exactly what I was after – smooth creamy leads with great definition.

The real revelation is in clean coil-split mode, though. Super-nice, even string balance and a bold clear tone. It’s about the only thing thats managed to pull me away from chugging on that hot Warman bridge pickup!

One thing worth mentioning, and it is stated in the blurb – I had to file the (import) pickguard hole quite a lot to fit this pickup in. It’s fatter than the Twin Loco – which itself needed just a bit of filing in the corner areas – and by the looks of it a completely different construction and shape. Not a problem, if you’re up to soldering a pickup into a Strat then filing the pickguard a bit shouldn’t phase you. But just be aware to have a suitable file ready.

Really happy with the pickups, and would have been equally happy had thy been 5x the price. Which is what they sound like.

    Excellent quality pickup.
I put it in the neck of a Tele, with a Warman T Rail in the bridge. I don’t play the neck much, but when using both pickups together, it holds its own.
Well packaged, you get the screws and springs, plus a guide to the wires. Very happy.
