Warman Texas Vintage Rangers – Classic wind and construction with staggered AlNiCo V magnet slugs. Vintage tone single coil pickups.
Here’s one for the purists, a full matched set of Vintage tone single coil pickups with fibre bobbins, alnico 5 magentic slugs and cloth covered wiring. We’ve also wax potted them to reduce the chances of microphonics. Wound hotter than standard for more output and tonal range but retaining the classic “quack” associated with this style of pickup. You can now get the tone and feel of a classic Strat set without the huge price tage normally associated with them. Each set is wound with the mid coil being opposed direction winding and magnetic polarity so that when you are using switch positions 2 and 4 then the two pickups being used are operating in humbucking mode.
Bridge – wound to 7.43 kOhm with an inductance of 4.01Henries, south pole facing up. Yellow and black wire
Middle – wound to 7.17 kOhm with and inductance of 3.93 Henries, north pole facing up. Blue and black wire
Neck – wound to 6.94 kOhm with an inductance of 3.83 Henries, south pole facing up. White and black wire.
In all cases the black wire is the ground / negative lead and connects to common earth. The coloured wires go to the respective positions on your selector switch.

I had just installed the new PUPs and the only thing that I can say is that I got stunned by how cheap my Fender Mexican strat was sounding before. The old pickups were dull, cold and lifeless no matter the height, strings and so on. I can now easily get a warm clean with a crispy top by setting the tone knob to 9-10 but also a dry and round tone suitable for an overdrive. The only way of believing in this kind of magic is by trying those pups yourself and let’s be honest: there is nothing holding you back when the price is so low compared to the quality of this product. The only thing that I don’t like is that my set of single coils didn’t come up with the personalized caps for the pickups. They are basic ones without the Warman logo and I really wanted to show off with it and help Josi by advertising a bit.

We are currently sorting out a new method for the logos. Some people love the logo on the faces and other people hate them ( you can please some of the people some of the times etc etc etc )

Excellent pickups!
A huge improvement over my old pickups and now my guitar feels alive. Unbelievable value and excellent customer service. So good, i’ve just ordered a set of Warman humbuckers!

Josi created a full set of these with custom covers for my Stratocaster.
The sound is everything I’d hoped for based on the specs of these pickups; classic clean Strat tones in every position but allowing the use of some gain for overdriven tones.
This is my second set of Warman pickups in my main guitars and I’m now looking at ordering a third set based on the price, quality and sound of them compared to competitors.
