Single coil upgrade pickups

Warman Texas Triple Hots – Full Matched Set of 3 Single Coil Pickups

If your Strat-style guitar sounds a little too polite, a little too thin or about as exciting as decaffeinated tea, the Warman Texas Triple Hots are here to wake it up properly.

This full matched set of three single coil pickups is designed for players who love classic Strat character but want more output, more punch and more authority from every position.

You still get all the sparkle, snap and expressive dynamics that make single coils legendary, but with extra heat under the bonnet for thicker blues, bigger rock tones and far more powerful bridge sounds.

These are not weak vintage replicas that disappear the second a drummer gets enthusiastic.

The Texas Triple Hots are built to deliver rich clean tones, crunchy blues grit and proper driven rock sounds while still keeping the unmistakable personality of a traditional single coil setup.

Bigger Strat Tone Without Losing Clarity

A lot of hotter single coils end up sounding muddy or harsh.

The trick is getting more output without losing the detail and attack that make Strat-style guitars so addictive to play in the first place.

The Texas Triple Hots are voiced to keep:

  • Crisp top-end clarity
  • Strong note definition
  • Dynamic picking response
  • Traditional single-coil bite
  • Classic “quack” in combined positions

—but with:

  • Fuller mids
  • Stronger bridge output
  • Fatter lead tones
  • Improved sustain
  • More amp-driving power

The result is a Strat setup that sounds bigger, richer and more confident across clean and driven settings.

Perfect for Blues, Rock and Hot-Rodded Strat Builds

These pickups are ideal for players who want their Strat-style guitar to cover more ground without losing its identity.

Great for:

  • Blues
  • Blues rock
  • Classic rock
  • Southern rock
  • Indie
  • Funk
  • Hard rock
  • Garage rock
  • Modern blues lead playing

They especially suit players who find traditional low-output Strat pickups slightly too thin or lacking power for modern amps and pedals.

The bridge pickup has extra authority for solos and heavier rhythm work, while the neck pickup stays warm, expressive and glassy without becoming woolly.

The middle pickup keeps everything balanced and delivers those famous in-between tones that Strat players spend half their lives grinning about.

A Huge Upgrade for Budget Strat Guitars

One of the most common problems with budget and mid-range Strat-style guitars is lifeless stock pickups.

You can have a guitar that plays beautifully but sounds flat, brittle or underpowered through an amp.

The Texas Triple Hots are an excellent upgrade for:

  • Entry level guitars
  • DIY projects
  • Mexican Strat upgrades
  • Partscasters
  • Superstrat conversions
  • Older import guitars

A pickup upgrade often transforms a guitar more dramatically than almost any other modification.

Sometimes the guitar was hiding a great sound all along. It just needed pickups that actually showed up for work.

Hotter Output With Vintage Soul

The Texas Triple Hots sit beautifully between vintage-style single coils and overwound modern pickups.

That means you get:

  • More push than vintage Strat pickups
  • Better sustain
  • Stronger low mids
  • Smoother driven tones
  • More usable bridge position tones
  • Excellent clean articulation

You can still roll back the volume and get sparkling cleans, but when you lean into the amp the pickups respond with far more aggression and body.

It’s classic Strat DNA with a little extra attitude.

Ideal for Pedals and Modern Amps

These pickups work brilliantly with:

  • Valve amps
  • Overdrive pedals
  • Fuzz pedals
  • Blues drivers
  • Marshall-style crunch
  • Fender-style clean amps
  • Modern modelling setups

Because they have a slightly hotter output, they push pedals and amp front ends more naturally than lower-powered vintage sets.

That means:

  • Easier sustain
  • Richer harmonics
  • Better dynamic response
  • Less need to crank gain excessively

And importantly, they still clean up nicely instead of turning into fizzy chaos.

Traditional Single Coil Character

Despite the extra output, the Texas Triple Hots still retain the qualities players love from classic Strat pickups:

  • Bell-like cleans
  • Sharp attack
  • Dynamic feel
  • Expressive picking response
  • Tight bass
  • Sparkling highs

Position 2 and 4 still give you that unmistakable “Strat quack” that somehow makes every guitarist immediately play funky chords whether they intended to or not.

It’s basically a law of physics at this point.

Built for Guitar Modders and DIY Players

Warman Guitars have spent decades helping guitar builders, repairers and modders upgrade instruments without spending boutique-level money.

That real-world experience matters because pickups need to work properly in everyday guitars, not just sound impressive in laboratory conditions while surrounded by vintage carpet and artisan coffee.

The Texas Triple Hots are designed to be reliable, musical and versatile in real playing situations.

Not just impressive on a specification sheet.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are these pickups true single coils?

Yes. They deliver genuine single-coil tone with enhanced output and thicker voicing.

Are they suitable for blues?

Absolutely. They are especially strong for blues and blues rock thanks to their fuller mids and dynamic response.

Do they fit standard Strat-style guitars?

Yes. They fit most standard Stratocaster-style pickup routings and scratchplates.

Are they noisy like traditional single coils?

Like all genuine single coils, they can produce some hum, especially under high gain. That classic single-coil sparkle comes with a little vintage attitude.

Are these high output pickups?

They are hotter than traditional vintage Strat pickups but not extreme metal-style high output designs.

What makes them “Texas” voiced?

The voicing focuses on fuller mids, punchier lows and stronger output while still retaining classic Strat clarity and bite.

Will they work for clean tones?

Very well. They still produce sparkling cleans with excellent note separation and dynamic response.

  1. Stephen Hannam (verified owner)

Just fitted these to my Harley Benton ST62. Whole guitar cost £135 including these pickups. Sounds like it costs 10 times as much. I’ll put this against any strat. The neck has a nice warm sound, the bridge that strat twang. Excellent pickups for the money. Can’t believe they are so inexpensive. They are definitely not “cheap” pickups.
